Argaineta II

The shape of the cavity is practically symmetrical, with regular, well-defined and almost geometric cuts, which suggests the tectonic origin of the fissure; the little work done by water can also be seen. As it is a fissure, the entrance almost corresponds to the bottom of the pit. On the clean walls with hardly any erosion, sharp edges are observed, as if the pit were of recent formation. The bottom is covered with stones. The cavity extends somewhat beyond the bottom of the doline. All the fractures or joints of the block are clearly connected, but the pit follows the widest direction, of 85°, throughout its development. The cavity reaches a depth of 72.5 metres.

The cavity extends somewhat beyond the bottom of the doline, which gave some hope of trying to force the block choke, but this possibility was completely cut short, since any attempt to make the cavity continue was beyond our reach.
