Characteristics

Location

Next to the old path that climbed to les Agulles from la Clota. The GR 92 also passes very close by. It is about 200 metres N of the summit of les Agulles.

To have good reference points, take the track that climbs from the creu de terme de la Clota up to les Agulles. After a few bends the track heads off to take a marked SW direction; on our left we will find another path not as marked as the one that has brought us here, we must take it, now we will walk towards the E. After about 120 metres we will find another junction, we must take the path that comes out on our right and that will make us walk again in a SW direction; we will do this for no more than about fifty metres, halfway along we will leave the GR on the left, and continuing straight on the path we will find on its left an area of about four square metres full of concrete that covers the Pou de les Agulles.

Description

Morphology

Circular well 2.5 metres in diameter and 6 metres deep. Ancient karst phenomenon completely transformed by human hand with the intention of retaining the waters of small infiltrations. The original morphology is completely masked by the works carried out.

Hydrology

The bottom of the well is occupied, depending on the season, by a deposit of water.

History

Known since ancient times by the local people. The first reference, as a speleological phenomenon, is given by N. Font i Sagué in 1897.

At the beginning of 2020 Jaume Tornamorell of Begues informed us that the Pou de les Agulles had recently been covered with concrete.
