Small cavity 3 m deep at the Fondo de Vallbona (Garraf), with a vertical entrance of about 1 x 0.4 metres.

Characteristics

Location

From the easternmost end of the pla de Campgràs, where the avenc d’en Blugh’s is located, follow the ridge that, in a SE direction, runs parallel to the Pla de les Basses and descends towards the Fondo de Vallbona. You reach the Avenc de l'Arboç and must continue along the ridge to a small col and from there climb to the summit of a rounded hill (Puig-rodó). From the summit, descend in direction E 50 S for about 80 metres until you find the entrance, below the avenc dels Tres Tombs.

It should be noted that at present (2013) the path from the col to the Puig-rodó is very overgrown. Try to always keep to the sunny side.

Description

Morphology

Small vertical entrance of about 1 x 0.4 metres that gives access to a single small pit 3 metres deep.

History

In the spring of 1986, during prospections that Lluís Muntan and Elena Muntan were carrying out in the area of the Fondo de Vallbona, they by chance found the avenc dels Tres Tombs, recently explored by colleagues from the SIE, and two small cavities near it, which they named Forat de la Ruda (because a clump of this plant grew at the entrance) and Forat del Deck (the name of the dog that always accompanied them).
