Description
Morphology
A magnificent 10x20 m pool, one of the most beautiful in France, about 20 m in diameter. A horizontal gallery measures 5x3. The gallery continues to a low point at -81 m before rising to -38 at a scree slope located 800 m from the pool.
Speleothems
The descent is made by steps over tufa flows.
Progression
Around -10, you truly enter the sump. The descent by steps over the tufa flows leads to -45, where you reach a pebble beach; from -45, the daylight of the porch is visible. A pebble slope leads to -50 in the horizontal gallery (5x3). After 100 m, a drop plunges to -60. The gallery continues for another 650 m to a low point at -81 m, before rising to -38 at a scree slope located 800 m from the pool. For what comes next, you will have to see with those who went further.
Other details
On the side, some scrap iron can be seen, vestiges of an anchoring structure for a decompression chamber.
