History
Although known and used by the people of the area since time immemorial, the first speleological exploration was carried out between 27 and 30 March 1964 during one of the campaigns of the operació Solsonès; the groups EDES, EDECA, SIRE and Pirinenc took part in the exploration, citing the cave under the name Espluga Sivina.
In 1968 L'ERE-CEC carried out the survey, which remained unpublished until the publication in 1980 of Vol.5 of the Catàleg Espeleològic de Catalunya.
We have no further news of the cavity until Salvador Codina published in 2013 in the magazine Corriol no. 168 an article about the cave, including a survey made on 2 October 2009, but renaming it Espluga del Cirer instead of Espluga Sivina.
