Location

The cova dels Bucs is located in Monistrol de Calders (Moianès). It is reached via the B-124 road that runs from Calders to Monistrol de Calders; after km 33, take the first turnoff on the left, which leads to the farmhouse of la Coma. The track climbs parallel to the riera de la Golarda; after approximately 1 km, one reaches the confluence of the torrent de Colljova with the riera de la Golarda, where the car is left in order to continue on foot along a path that branches off to the right, the old path from Monistrol de Calders to Moià. A few metres after the turnoff there is a small cliff on the left; here, hanging about 7 m above the path, is the cova dels Bucs.

Description

Morphology

It is a cave hanging (cova penjada), an old fossil conduit, formed by three superimposed galleries at different levels, which converge at a very narrow transverse joint where the cavity ends. The cave has a length of 25 m and +5.5 m of elevation change.

History

Unpublished cavity. Explored and catalogued by members of the Espeleo Club Muntanyenc Barcelonès and the Grup d'Espeleologia de Badalona in early January 2020.
