Vilanova de Prades • Conca de Barberà 3m

Small rock shelter 9 m wide in the Serra de la Llena (Conca de Barberà), known since time immemorial.

Characteristics

Location

The rock shelter is located in the Serra de la Llena, in the Conca de Barberà.

To get there, on arriving at Vilanova de Prades from Vallclara (TV-7004) we will find a roundabout. We will continue to the right along a partly cemented and well signposted track, "Camí de Serra de Llena". The track continues in a NE direction to go around the Punta del Curull and follow the ridge in the direction of the antennas and the fire watchtower. Two hundred metres before reaching the antennas we will leave the car in an esplanade on our left. This esplanade is crossed by the path that climbs up from Vilanova de Prades. We will continue towards the S, in the direction of Vilanova, along a path marked with yellow paint in the shape of a horseshoe. About 200 metres further on the path passes by the cova de les Bigues. We will continue along the path 100 metres more until it turns and loses height. At this point we will continue a few metres towards the W, without losing height.
