Cova del Lladre

Petita cova de 20 m a Lluçà (Lluçanès)

Lluçà • Lluçanès20m0

Small 20 m cave in Lluçà, in the Lluçanès, with a laminar gallery and a chamber with blocks; speleologically undocumented and a possible hiding place during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939).

Characteristics

Location

We will set out from the village of Sant Agustí de Lluçanès along the BP-4654 road towards Alpens; when we reach kilometre point 10.7 we will take a dirt track that leaves on our left. The track passes beside the Sant Agustí reservoir; we will continue along the path we were on, leaving several turnings until we reach the Pujals farmhouse, we will continue for about 500 m to a junction of tracks and here we will leave the car, to descend off-path to a small torrent where we will find the small entrance of the cave.

Description

Morphology

The cave mouth is 1 m wide by 70 cm high and gives access to a gallery in the form of a laminar passage 3 m long by 40 cm high that leads to a widening 17 m long by 9 m wide and 1.30 m high, with abundant blocks on the floor, resulting from an advanced clastic process.

History

Cavity speleologically undocumented. It seems that the cave had been used as a hiding place during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939).
