Characteristics

Location

From Tortosa and Roquetes you must take the road towards els Reguers and from there continue along the TV-3422 in the direction of Alfara de Carles, and 3 kilometres before arriving, the turn-off to el Toscar appears on the left. From here you must take the path, well signposted with markers, which climbs towards coll de Morera, crosses the barranc del Bosc Negre and, without any chance of getting lost, in a little over an hour, climbs up to the cova dels Adells with magnificent views of the Rases del Maraco.

A little further on, about 5 minutes, you reach the Cova del Curro.

Area with free-roaming bulls, the gates along the path must be left closed.

Description

Morphology

A porch about 5 metres high gives way to a gallery 8 metres long. At the back there is a small room built of stone against the wall at the end of la Cova.

Hydrology

Inside it is the small font dels Adells.

Other details

It also serves, like its neighbour, the Cova dels Adells, as a shelter for the cattle that graze in the area.

History

Known since time immemorial, although it does not appear in the old speleological catalogues. At first it was known as font dels Adells, but many years ago a person (Curro) stayed there for a long time and planted the two walnut trees at the entrance and cultivated the area near the cave where he stayed.
