Location

From the church of Santa Magdalena, north of Pontons, follow the path that passes beside the cemetery and heads toward the riera dels Carbons, going up it along its left hydrographic slope for a stretch of approximately 540 m; near this point on the path is the Font d’Oriola. Here you leave the path and head about 150 m in an E direction, climbing up toward the cliffs and crevices of les Roques Xiques. Above the main cliff is the Esquerda de les Roques Xiques and just a few metres away the Avenc de Can Marimon and, slightly lower, the Cova de la Font Oriola.

Description

Morphology

Consists of a single gallery about 12 metres long excavated along a joint running NE-SW. The first stretch has a slight downward ramp occupied by blocks, and at the final part the floor is flat.

Speleothems

At the final part, some small lithogenic formations and meagre drips can be seen.

History

The first known data are those provided by members of SIRE – UEC Sants, who explored it in June 1985.
