Description

Morphology

Small cave formed by a single chamber about 10 metres long. No survey is available.

Hydrology

Inside there was a spring that formed a small pool, generally frozen all year round and from which its name seems to come. At present, some hikers say that a rockfall from the ceiling has made the spring disappear, but for many years it was said that this spring rarely flowed.

History

Known since time immemorial by the few people of the area who must have passed through these places. It is later mentioned in various articles and hiking guides.

The first speleological reference we know of is that of the visit by members of the GES – CMB in October 1959, who give it 10 metres of length. The same day they also visit, at the nearby Roca Verda, a cave 12 metres long which they call Cova de Roca Verda and of which we have no further news.
