Characteristics

Location

From km 6.73 of the BV-5207 road, where the track (locked with a padlock) that leads to el Noguer begins, we will take a path that starts about 30 metres before, which continues level, parallel to the road. After a little more than 100 metres the path gains height and we soon reach the balma de la Corbera Vella.

From the balma we will now continue to the left, enter a shady wood and at 50 metres we will find the balma del Secall on the right.

From the balma del Secall it is necessary to continue about 60 metres, until finding a gully that climbs to the top of the cingle de Corbera. The cavity is found in the left wall, a little before the start of the climb.

Description

Morphology

It is a fissure just over 0.5 metres wide and 6 metres high. After a 5-metre ramp the cavity divides into two parts, on one side an accumulation of blocks forms a small 2.6-metre pothole, followed by a ramp of blocks, until it becomes impenetrable, finding here the point of maximum penetration. On the other side the fissure gradually narrows until it becomes impenetrable at 3 metres.

History

The first known reference to this cavity is from the exploration carried out by GE Mollet in 1980.
