Characteristics

Location

We will follow the track that leaves from the last bend in the road before reaching the village of l'Alzina and continue until we reach the coll d'Ares where we will park, before descending by the shady side towards Ossera. On the left a steep track, suitable only for 4x4 vehicles, gives us access to the plains. The track levels out until we come to some telephone screens. A couple of hundred metres from its start on the plain, a path on the left takes us to a fallow field, very close to the cliff edge. Advancing along it, we will soon come out at a large field formerly cultivated that we will have to cross without straying too far from the cliff edge. On going back into the wood we tread on some limestone slabs, and very close by we come upon an appreciable doline with a triangular side entrance, which is the cova de la Dolina Bufadora; if we go a little further into the wood, after about 40 metres we will find the Bòfia after passing a stretch bare of trees and the beginning of a gully indicated by some short cliffs on the left, the entrance opens beside a bramble.

Description

Morphology

Small pit eleven metres deep in Fígols i Alinyà. The earthy blowing entrance needed digging open, giving way to a series of short drops until reaching a wider space. A further drop leaves one at the final part of the cavity.

History

Dug open and explored by the GELL in 1998.
