Description

Morphology

Rock shelter 20 metres wide, the N half of little depth and the other half 2 metres high and 9 metres deep.

Hydrology

Most of the floor is occupied by a pool of water of shallow depth.

Progression

You must climb a small ridge between the two buildings and follow a path that soon leads to the rock shelter.

History

Known since time immemorial. Cited on the website of patrimoni cultural .diba, of the Diputació de Barcelona, which led to the visit (13-8-2013) by members of the EC de Gràcia and the GE Badalona, who carried out the relevant cataloguing work.

Despite the redundancy with the name of the cavity, we keep the name that appears in the aforementioned inventory. Initially the rock shelter, without a name, gave its name to the farmhouse: Mas de la Bauma, and was used as a corral. Later, when it gave its name to the rock shelter, the name of the farmhouse was adopted, thus becoming bauma de la Bauma.
