Balma de Cal Llarg

Balma a la rasa de Torrenteller (Lladurs).

Lladurs • Solsonès6m

Balma at the Torrenteller ravine (Lladurs), an old dwelling with stone and mud walls, remains of an oven and a small dwelling.

Characteristics

Location

It is located in the lower part of the Torrenteller ravine, about 10 metres above the ravine itself, under a large wall of conglomerate rock with sandstone peleochannels and on the hydrographic left side.

To get there, we will leave Solsona towards Sant Llorenç de Morunys, along the road to the Llosa del Cavall. We will turn left onto the forest track that crosses to the Hostal del Cap del Pla, with a steep asphalted ramp, before reaching the restored farmhouse of the Cavall. We will go up this track, cross the Torrenteller ravine and continue climbing in a S direction; after a very sharp bend we will change direction towards the west, passing below the ruined house of Puigdeponç. A little further on, once past the Puigdeponç path, we will turn right onto a path that is a little worse than the previous one. We will cross the col and go down to the Torrenteller ravine; here we will leave the vehicle (preferably 4X4) and go up on foot along a path on the left side of the ravine (hydrographic right), which will continue as a narrow trail following alongside the ravine without leaving it, until it meets the same aforementioned path again, a little higher up. We will continue climbing along the path until it crosses the ravine, but we will continue along the path on the left slope of the ravine (hydrographic right), which keeps climbing. Further on we will cross the ravine and climb upwards in zigzag, until we find another path on the right that climbs alongside the same ravine.

Next we will follow this last aforementioned path that climbs along the right side of the ravine, until it reaches a point where it can go no further. About one hundred metres from here we will find the balma on the other slope of the ravine, under a smoke-blackened wall. To reach it we will follow the path made by the cows to the balma.

Description

Morphology

It is an old dwelling, but more modern than the Corrua. The walls are made of stone and mud, some about to fall, and others reach 4 metres in height. In the westernmost part, the remains of an oven stand out, and in the easternmost part there is a very small dwelling of about four square metres.

Progression

Continuing along the side of the wall towards the W, we will come out at another balma facing east, but without walls, in the same ravine that descends from the balma de la Corrua and from the Quesis.

History

Known since time immemorial.
