Description

Morphology

These are two rock shelters, one beside the other. The easternmost one is about 20 metres wide by 7 metres high and 9 metres deep. The westernmost one was a two-storey dwelling. At present some walls are preserved, along with the half-collapsed oven with a very curious vault of rough stone.

Progression

After about 10 minutes of walking, we will cross the small gully of the reguer del Jou, and about 5 minutes later we will leave the track to go up a path on the left, in a landslide area. A little care is needed. We will follow the same marks along a very sunny and fairly steep slope until, after about 20 minutes, we reach the ruined house of els Forats, beside a hundred-year-old holm oak, where we will pass between the corral and the house; we will continue climbing on the left for about 10 minutes more, until we reach the wide balma dels Forats, also known as la Cigrona. Coordinates not very precise.

Other details

The easternmost rock shelter was used as a corral.

History

Known since ancient times, it had been used as a dwelling.
