A small cavity in the Sotarro (Begues), in a doline on the pla del Sotarro, with an entrance of 0.70X0.90 m, an r-1.20 m, a drop of -0.60 m and a gallery of 0.40 m.

Characteristics

Location

From the avinguda de la Mediterrània in Begues, take the track heading north along the Plana de l'Alzina to can Farfai; a little further on, follow the track on the left that climbs to the pla del Sotarro. On reaching the top we find a first fork to the left which we ignore; continue 70 metres to a new fork to the left, follow it for about 80 metres, where we find an interesting rascler. To the left of the track, about 20 metres away, we will find a doline in which this pit is located, and also the avenc SO.1.

Description

Morphology

The doline in question is an interesting collapse, located in the absorption zone known as pla del Sotarro. The cavity is entered through an entrance of 0.70X0.90 m. We descend an r-1.20 m, where we find a tiny chamber. Another drop, this one of -0.60 m, leads us to a narrow gallery 0.40 m wide.

Progression

Through the narrow gallery 0.40 m wide we can progress a couple of metres further to a constriction that is for now impassable.

History

Small cavity located on one side of the base of the doline of the pla del Sotarro; at first it was a small hole with signs of having been the object of an old dig. This task was continued by members of the GEB, managing to progress only 5 m.
