Small pit nearly 6 m deep in the la Morella area (Garraf), with an irregular shaft of just over 5 m, a narrow passage and a chimney of about 3 m.

Characteristics

Location

From the Pla de Querol car park, follow the path to the Campgràs and continue along the road that climbs to the Centre d'Emissors d'Aviació, going as far as the installation located furthest E. To the N of this is spot height 586 (Serrat de la Morella), to the SW is the central radioelectric installation (Puig Ginebró) and between both points there is a small col where, on its SE slope, there is a doline. On a rocky outcrop and about 4 metres above the bottom of the doline is the pit.

The cavity marked with the previous number (SM-4) is catalogued as Avenc del Filisteo.

Description

Morphology

Irregular shaft just over 5 metres deep. Halfway down the shaft there is a fairly difficult narrow passage. At the end of the floor a small chimney about 3 metres high develops.

Speleothems

Small dissolution cavity with showy speleothems.

History

Unblocked with expansive cement at the end of 1992. Explored and surveyed in March 1993 by members of the ERE – CEC.
