Characteristics

Location

By the track that climbs from the Pla d'Ardenya to the Pla del Marge del Moro, once past the doline of the Serra del Mas, the track takes a right turn where we find the avenc del Marge; a little further on we find a torrent at the point where the track turns left. This torrent must be followed upstream for about 50 metres, where we will find the cavity in the middle of the torrent.

Description

Morphology

Large entrance with a rectangular shape, a 5-metre-deep shaft and a regular structure with a flat base.

History

The ERE of the CEC explored and surveyed it on 6 November 1964, naming it Avenc de les Brosses nº 2, together with another very nearby cavity which they named Avenc de les Brosses nº 1. Both cavities remained unpublished and the respective surveys remained forgotten in the archives of the ERE of the CEC; only Jordi Lloret, in his Catálogo Espeleològico del Pla d'Ardenya (1979), mentions the avenc de les Brosses, but does not publish the surveys.

In 1996 the SEO-CE Vallirana rediscovered them and renamed them SM-23 for the Avenc de les Brosses nº 2 and Avenc del Molí in the case of the avenc de les Brosses nº 1.
