Location

From the Coll d'Ordal, follow the track that, passing through the plans d'en Ravella, heads towards the Coll d'Esteles; shortly before reaching it and at the height of the Turó de les Mentides, we find the cavity on the left of the track and right next to it.

Description

Morphology

At the bottom of a small step we find an easily accessible vertical crawl, which places us at the dome of a -9 metre pit, with a ledge 3 metres above the base. This, of reduced section, links with a very narrow -7 metre pit with a joint-controlled form. The very unstable floor is formed by an accumulation of blocks; beneath these a few more metres can be probed.

History

Artificially dug open in the mid-80s of the last century by a group of cavers from the nearby village of Ordal (Subirats). On 22 November 1986 the SIES d'Esplugues de Llobregat explored it and carried out the survey.

At the end of the 90s some workers took advantage of the cavity's entrance to install a repeater for the Agrupació de Defensa Forestal Penedès-Garraf, cementing the entire entrance of the cavity. Following the complaint raised at the instigation of the ecology and underground environment protection department of the Federació Catalana d'Espeleologia, on 3 December 2011, a group of volunteers from the ADF and the FCE proceeded to remove the repeater, leaving the cavity's entrance free, but the pit remained obstructed. Finally, on 22 January 2012, the clearing work was completed, leaving the pit open.
