Characteristics

Location

Going from Vallirana along the N-340 road, past the coll de l'Ordal you must continue until shortly before the village of Ordal where you can change direction; shortly before passing the coll de l'Ordal again, a track comes out on the right, which initially runs along the edges of the El Lledoner urbanisation.

Past the Pi de les Quatre Soques we will reach the plans d'en Revella.

Further on we will pass the turó de l'Or, and we will take a turn-off situated on the left, shortly before reaching the avenc del Mal Pas. The area is easily identifiable, since it is where a high-voltage power line passes and it is cleared. This half-abandoned track serves 2 high-voltage towers.

We will find the cavity near the turn-off that leads to the first tower. On the left we can already make out the rustic wooden construction made at the mouth of the pit by anonymous cavers, to carry out the clearing work.

Description

Morphology

We find a rectangular mouth of about 5 x 3 m. We will descend a 9.20 m pit; this pit, at 3.80 m, has a ledge by which we access a small gallery 0.50 m wide, and with a direction of 85º; we advance 1.50 m and we come across a rise of +1 m, here we find two tiny crawls of about 2 m in length.

The pit continues with dimensions of 1.80 x 1.40 m, meeting the ceiling of a small room through a flowstone.

Once at the base of the P.9.20, we advance along a descending ramp for about 3 m; here we find a fissure about 3 m high by about 0.60 m wide with a rock bridge at 0.70 m high. Climbing this r+0.70 we reach a pit (r.3.40) that is easily down-climbable. This final pit has a width of 0.50 m and a length of 1.20 m, and has been the object of an attempted clearing. Here is the maximum height difference point.

Returning to the small room, if we position ourselves at the base of the pit, and in direction 200º, we find an r+1.40 that leads to a crawl of about 2.50 m.

History

Explored for the first time by SIEP-CE Poblet (Barcelona) in 1975, after being located by a member of the group who was working on the installation of the power line.

Many years ago, unidentified cavers carried out an important clearing in the cavity and although they did not manage to increase the depth of the pit, they did change its morphology, with differences existing between the new survey and that of its discoverers.

Around 2004 someone incorrectly painted at the mouth: Avenc de la Revella, thinking it was this cavity of -10 m, which must be in the area but which we have no news of having been located, despite the search.
