Description
Morphology
The 5x2-metre entrance leads, after a small ramp and a vertical 2.5-metre drop that is easily downclimbed, to an elongated chamber where a strong clastic process can be observed that makes passage difficult; shortly before it becomes impenetrable, it links with a perpendicular gallery that emerges again to the outside, above pit no. 5 de la Boixeda. Back in the chamber, beneath the blocks there is a narrow passage that leads to a shaft of -8.5 metres. Descending this, there is a ledge formed by large blocks, below which the cavity continues between other blocks wedged between the walls, until a new shaft is found, this one of -7 metres, the base of which is formed by a descending ramp. At the lower part of the ramp it is possible to descend two metres further between large blocks, until reaching the maximum depth of the pit, -35.5 metres.
History
The first news we have of this group of cavities (except no. 9) is that given by members of the ERE – CEC who explored them in 1972. In 1979 members of the Espeleo Club de Gràcia, during an exploration of the cavity, observed in the final part known until then a recent partial collapse, which after a small clearing led them to the exploration of two new shafts.
