A 12-metre-deep pit at Pla d'Ardenya, Vallirana, formed by a single 9-metre shaft.

Characteristics

Location

Following the track that leads from Pla d'Ardenya to Pla de Sot d'Ossos, on reaching the height of Creu d'Ardenya, it joins a track that runs under the power line. From the point where both tracks meet, we continue in the direction of Pla de Sot d'Ossos for about 65 metres, where the track turns left; on the right-hand side of the track we find a cairn that marks the start of a path that in 37 metres of route leads us to the pit.

Description

Morphology

It is formed by a single 9-metre shaft that widens progressively in an E-W direction as depth is gained. The 3x1 metre base has a steep slope towards the E and is full of small stones coming mostly from the outside.

History

Discovered and explored by the GEFOMA of the SE of the Foment Martinenc in November 1975.
