Characteristics

Location

At the upper part of the S cliff of the Boixater (or Boixeder), which extends in an approximately E-W direction from Sant Corneli de Fígols to Fumanya.

We reach the Grau de la Mola, at a marked bend in the road connecting Sant Corneli with Fumanya. At this point there is a natural pass that allows the cliff to be climbed comfortably by path. Here there are also several climbing routes. We go up the grau and follow the path to the left. We continue for approximately 10 or 15 minutes, until we find a branch of the path that goes off to the right towards Vallcebre passing through Santa Magdalena. At this point we rule out the path to the right and also leave the one we were on. We go into the middle of the dense forest towards the left, in the direction of the cliff. Close to it, before reaching les esquerdes de les Cambrotes, is the avenc Negre pit and a few metres further on is the avenc Fred pit.

Coordinates to be reviewed and without much precision.

History

In October 1963 it is discovered by members of the GES – CMB, who together with other cavities in the area are the object of a campaign that lasts until May 1964.

In order to include them in the Catàleg Espeleològic de Catalunya, in 1979, other members of the GES – CMB return again to the area, explore and survey them.
