Description

Morphology

After descending 44 metres down an exterior wall, one reaches a small ledge of about 4X8 metres where the entrance of the cavity is found; this has an opening of 2X5 metres.

Progression

After a distance of 20 metres and having overcome a small step, one reaches the head of a 19-metre pit which begins with a narrow section and widens out from 3 metres onwards; this pit leaves us at the head of an earth and stone ramp that will lead us to a 9-metre pit which will place us at the bottom of the cavity.

History

In the Memòria Espeleològica 1962 of the Grup d'Espeleologia de Badalona a brief note was published about the prospections carried out that year in the Queralbs area. Among others, it reports the exploration of a 42-metre-deep pit, which they name Avenc del Tronc, without specifying almost anything else.

The cavity remained forgotten until September 2007, when members of the GES del CM Terrassa who were going with the aim of locating and surveying the Graller del Bogader made a mistake about its location and accidentally found this other cavity.

Once the descent inside the cavity had begun, their rope ran out at the head of a pit of about ten metres; this incident made them decide to name it Avenc de la Corda Justa; the GES del CMT returned to the cavity on 4 May 2008 to finish the exploration and the survey, publishing it on the club's website. A few days later, members of the GE Badalona made public that it was the same cavity explored in 1962.
