Description
Morphology
The entrance, half blocked by boulders, gives way to a short step down that places us in a small elongated chamber 7 metres long; at its end and among the boulders an impenetrable fissure can be seen that connects with the outside. At the foot of the entrance step there is a small shaft that connects with the final gallery, with a sloping floor and full of debris, and which at its lowest point closes the cave.
History
On 18 and 19 July 1959, three members of the ERE-CEC (Molist, Garcia and Pomerol) explore two caves at the Rasos de Peguera: Avenc del Pla de la Corba (-51 m) and the Avenc del Cingle de la Corba (-26 m). The first is undoubtedly a partial exploration of what we now know as Bòfia de la Corba and the other should be what was later called Avenc del Sixto (although with an exaggerated depth). We think, however, that there is a slip here, since by the logic of the location, the first should be that of the Cingle de la Corba and the other that of the Pla de la Corba. These explorations go completely unnoticed and have no kind of dissemination.
In 1966 the members of the SECEM (Manresa) locate them again without any knowledge of the previous explorations and name it Avenc del Sixto. When in 1980 volume 5 of the Catàleg Espeleològic de Catalunya is put together, the authors decide to give it back its older name, although by logic it should be that of the Pla de la Corba.
