Characteristics

Location

From the Coll d'Ares we will continue in the direction of Sant Alís; on reaching the barranc de les Vaqueres (it is the second one we come across) we will descend by the South side, which corresponds to the cingle del Montsec. We find the cavity by following the first terrace in a Westerly direction for 85 metres, in the middle of a small path.

Description

Morphology

Small entrance that had to be enlarged. A first 3-metre pit developed along a joint trending N40E; at the end of this we find an 8-metre pit, the base of which has a slight incline.

History

The first exploration was carried out by F. Chavarria and Oleguer Escolà on 4 January 1962.

Curiously, this cavity that was explored by the ERE of the CEC for the first time, years later someone from the ERE of the CEC has painted at the entrance, in addition to the club's initials, the name “D-30”.
