Location

It is located at the Fontcalda spa, in Gandesa. Heading N, one must go up the channel called 'barranquet dels Xorros'. After about 10 minutes one reaches the two entrances of the pit. The coordinates are approximate and imprecise; they need to be checked.

Description

Morphology

Entering through the lower entrance, which is the most visible and at the same time passable, there is a 2 metre drop that places one in the middle of a steep ramp that has a small chamber at its top. This ramp connects at a couple of points with another parallel ramp coming from the upper entrance; both meet at some small drops of 2-3 metres. Once descended, one reaches a strongly inclined gallery that leads to the point of maximum depth. From the upper part of this gallery a small ascending gallery can be followed. At the beginning of this gallery there is a narrow shaft that offers possibilities if a narrow passage is cleared. Back in the main gallery, a side passage gives access to a new ascending branch.
