Small pit 11 m deep in the Garraf (Begues), discovered in 2006 and surveyed in 2012.

Characteristics

Location

Difficult access to the last section due to its semi-verticality. From the Corral Nou we will take the path that climbs to Can Jaques, passing near the avenc del Corral Nou. We will reach Can Jaques and continue along the path, quite overgrown in stretches, and at the collet between the Turó de la Gràngela and les Penyes Roges we will turn off toward the fondo de la dreta, in a SW direction and along the right side of the tàlveg. At about 300 metres we will find the mouth of the cavity, on a steep slope, some 10 mts above the bed of the fondo.

Atenció: the coordinates given by the authors do not coincide with the situation expressed on the map that they themselves provide and place it 15 metres higher up.

Description

Morphology

A mouth between blocks gives way to a single 9-metre shaft, quite wide, which ends in a slope that leads us to the maximum level of -11 metres, in the direction of the tàlveg.

Speleothems

On the walls of the base we find flowstone of considerable beauty.

History

Discovered in 2006 during a prospection in the area by the Arbonés brothers and accompanied by the Serrano brothers (Dalton, at that time still at the S.E.C.E.S. de Sitges). At that moment they named it “avenc dels Àlex” because in both groups of brothers there was an Alex, but finally they name it “avenc de la germandat” in honour of all the rest of the group's companions.

In February 2012, and now as S.E.S. del GE Ribes, Alex Serrano returns to the hole accompanied by Joan Ramia and Josep Pastor, they survey it and take the current coordinates.
