Characteristics

Location

From the Corral Nou we will take the path that climbs to Can Jaques, passing near the avenc del Corral Nou. We will reach Can Jaques and continue along the path, quite overgrown in stretches. We will continue until we pass the Penyes Roges and, following the trail towards the Puig de les Solius, we will turn off towards the valley floor, to the right of the thalweg. We will pass the avenc de Can Jaques and after about 150 metres we will find the entrance of the cavity, some 15 metres above the bed of the valley floor.

Description

Morphology

The entrance, of accessible dimensions, gives way to a 2.5 metre drop followed by a series of small pits of 3, 6 and 5 metres. At this point we are at the base of a wide pit, to the E of which we find a window 3 metres high. Very selective, it gives way to a short ramp at the end of which we find a 4 metre pit with its base in a small chamber whose ceiling coincides with the base of the upper pit. This small chamber leads us to a ramp that becomes inaccessible.

History

Discovered in 2005 during a prospection in the area by the Serrano brothers (the Dalton; at that time still at the S.E.C.E.S. of Sitges) and accompanied by the Arbonés brothers.

In February 2012, and now as S.E.S. of the GER, Alex Serrano returned to the pit accompanied by Joan Ramia and Josep Pastor, they surveyed it and took the current coordinates.
