Characteristics

Location

Once we are in the Urbanització de Begues Park, we will position ourselves at the confluence of carrers de l'Ebre and del Llobregat, where we will find carrer del Túria, which we will follow up on the left until we pass the first house; between this house and the next one, there is still a wooded area where we find a track heading towards the torrent. Once there, we must follow it up to the col; at this point the cavity is located.

Description

Morphology

A 6x4-metre entrance that leads into a 6-metre shaft down to a floor of the same dimensions as the entrance. At the western end opens the entrance of the second shaft, which is 11 metres deep and has an average section of 1.5 metres. Its base gives access to a chamber of 3.6x3.8. The final level is at 17.5 metres.

Speleothems

The shaft is full of flowstone and the chamber has a great profusion of flowstone and stalactites.

History

First exploration carried out by the “Colla del Pinxo”. This group was made up of people who mostly lived in the area, but who belonged to a well-known and historic speleological club in Barcelona.

In this cavity, the phenomenon known as hypoxia has occurred on some occasions, but not always.
