Characteristics

Location

Leaving Talló (a hamlet of Bellver) we take the paved track that goes into the Vall d'Ingla.

After passing the Romanesque chapel of Sant Serni the asphalt ends, but the track is suitable for cars. A few metres further on from the Font del Capellà and after 2.7km from Sant Serni, we leave the cars.

Description

Morphology

A group of small rock shelters that develop along about a hundred metres in length at the foot of a cliff.

Progression

From here a steep path stabilised with logs starts.

Climbing a few metres we find the first climbing section, we pass a metal fence and follow a well-marked path. Shortly after, a path branches off to the left, optional, very steep, equipped with fixed ropes that in approximately 15 minutes places us below a cliff where we find the so-called shelters or Abric de la Vall d'Ingla where some faint rock paintings made by means of finger impressions are represented.

We can also reach the same spot following the previous well-marked path that makes a slightly longer detour (there are also fixed ropes on the most exposed sections).

Other details

Their greatest interest are the schematic-type rock paintings found on their walls.

History

Known since time immemorial, having been used as a sheepfold.

Visited in August 1983 by Joan Pallarès and Jordi Comas (SIE – CEA), who shortly afterwards accompanied specialists who began the studies of the paintings.

This group has been declared a Site of Cultural Interest and World Heritage.
