Caratteristiche

Località

From the town of Bagà, we head to the Riugrèixer recreational area; on the left-hand side a battered track leads off towards the coll de la Masena. The path soon makes a bend; after about 400 metres from the start of the path it makes another, gentler bend. Once past this, one must climb up the N slope (hydrographic right). The cavity is found in a small wood to the right of a long scree slope, located 140 metres from the torrent bed and 100 metres in height relative to it, half hidden by the abundant vegetation and a stone wall.

Descrizione

Morfologia

A circular entrance of ample dimensions that opens onto a rectilinear gallery 16 metres long and 2.5X3 metres in section. This progressively narrows until it links up with another gallery, a continuation of the same one, but of reduced dimensions, until reaching a small rounded chamber; the whole of the described ensemble is covered on the floor with sand and small-sized stones. A few metres from the entrance, there is an upper level formed by an ascending gallery of 10 metres, with a comfortable route and 6 metres of height at the highest chamber.

Concrezioni

The first branch, after a short meander, ends in an upper chamber that is heavily decorated.

Progressione

The upper level is easily accessible by means of a traverse on the left, from where two branches start; the first, after a short meander, ends in an upper chamber that is heavily decorated; and the other, wider and more comfortable, ends after about 7 metres of passage, in a second small entrance opening, artificially covered with stones.
