Descrizione
Morfologia
The cave consists of a vast porch and an ascending gallery 126 m long (elevation reached + 65). There are also a few chimneys and lateral passages. The general direction of the gallery is East-South East, right into the massif. The entrance of the cavity is at 590 m altitude and the plateau above at 688 m altitude; the difference is small (688 - 590 = 98; 98 - 65 = 33 m).
Concrezioni
In the sandy entrance, many bones are present, some calcified toward the back of the cavity and mixed with concretions and clay, not belonging to this gallery. It would seem that these bones come from the fall of animals that were on the plateau, in these avens, hence the mixing of these bones with clay, the concretions coming from the upstream galleries.
Idrologia
This gallery would be a very ancient spring of the Fenouillèdes karst plateau. It seems extraordinary that the avens-ponors resurface lower down forming a gallery of this diameter; we would be tempted to suppose that the plateau was much higher originally.

The avens of the plateau have disappeared due to erosion, a very long time ago. The plateau has been prospected several times at the presumed location of the avens in question. It has undergone very significant erosion, and the aven entrances have disappeared. Indeed, on the plateau there is a tangle of small-caliber limestone blocks covered with vegetation.

During explorations, we noted the presence of a bat colony in the room bearing this name and toward the back of the gallery.
