Caratteristiche

Località

From the village of Fígols, follow the BV-4025 road towards Fumanya. Further on you pass the coll de Salamó and continue until you find the turn-off that climbs towards Rasos de Peguera. Shortly after the turn-off you reach the wide Collada de Peguera, where you must leave the car. From this point you must head towards a meadow located 200 m to the west, where the cavity is found.

This itinerary has the advantage that the whole route is asphalted. An alternative itinerary would be from Berga up to the Rasos de Peguera ski resort and from the coll de la Creu down towards Peguera as far as the collada of the same name, but the last two kilometres are on a dirt track.

At present the mouth of the pit is surrounded by barbed wire to prevent animals from falling in, and a good many metres of wire rolled up beside the mouth itself. In fact, a dead cow was found at the bottom of the shaft (August 2022).

Descrizione

Morfologia

In the very middle of an elongated doline opens the single shaft that forms the cavity; a few metres into its descent, the NE wall veers in that direction, giving it a certain bell-like shape. At the bottom of the 15-metre vertical drop there is a pile of rubble, and at the NE end, through a low passage formed by a series of fitted and cemented blocks, one can enter a small chamber with a flat floor.

Storia

The first exploration was carried out by the ERE of the CEC in the mid-1960s.

In June 1980 a team from the SIE-CEA located it and produced the only survey we know of.

Finally, on 26-8-2022 it was relocated by Josep Guarro and Joan C. Juderías with the help of a LIDAR map.
