Caratteristiche

Località

From the Amer sports pavilion we will follow the road leading to Sant Martí Sacalm for 3.5 Qm; right in the middle of a 180º right-hand bend we will turn off to the left onto a track that we will follow for 1.7 Qm, ignoring the tracks closed with padlocks. At the end of this indicated route and near the Camp Gran del Mont, we find a padlock that closes the track; we must park a little before, taking care not to obstruct. Past the indicated padlock we must leave the track and follow a path to the right that climbs in the direction of the Puig de les Sand; halfway along the path we pass in front of an abandoned mine about 40 metres long. After a distance of 1.1 Qm from the padlock, we reach the ridge; we must follow the cairns to the left for about 50 metres until we reach the fissure.

Descrizione

Morfologia

It is a small, non-continuous fissure, with a total length of 36 metres and a maximum height difference of 6.70 metres; this fissure is related to the Amer fault, in fact it is located on a fault line. We also find, parallel to and below the main fissure, some small fissures that are completely impenetrable.

Storia

A cavity that is not documented speleologically, known to geologists and hikers.

It is related to the earthquakes that occurred in 1427, where according to the chronicles of the time various fumaroles of toxic gases appeared at different points on the mountain, causing deaths.

From the well-verified primary historical sources, no descriptions have been cited of ground ruptures with displacements of both lips, that is, fault scarps related to the 1427 seismic events; only open fissures with subvolcanic emanations between Lloret Salvatge and Amer during the earthquake of 22-04-1427.
