From Peracalç we will follow the track that descends to the Torrent del Riu, in the area of l'Ambilera, we will continue descending to the Font de les Greisses located in the barranc de Sant Pere, we will continue downstream along the hydrographic left bank, soon we will see on the walls to the left the mouth of l'Esplugueta, we will continue onwards until reaching the area of els Malls, here we will climb up to the cliff on the left where the Espluga dels Malls is found.

It is a large rock shelter approximately 40-50 metres wide, 10-15 metres high and about 15-20 metres deep.

Storia

Cavity known since ancient times by the local people; speleologically it had never been catalogued.

It should be said that the Espluga dels Malls has no relation to a so-called Avenc dels Malls, of some supposed 50 m of depth and that in the spring of 1970 some cavers made it up in this same area with the intention of 'punishing' a well-known biospeleologist who poked his nose in where he shouldn't. The location of an uncommon beetle in this pit aroused the curiosity of more than one and naturally it could never be found. The bug in question did exist, but it was found in another cavity. We do not know which one.

Those were the ways of those times.
