Caratteristiche

Località

On the C-44 road from l'Hospitalet de l'Infant to Masriudoms, at km 3.71, on the left-hand side of the road there are two entrances to two tracks. Turning is prohibited; you must go as far as Masriudoms to turn and come back in the opposite direction, and access via the first of the two aforementioned tracks. After 100 metres we will leave the vehicle and from the left-hand side of the track the PC-R 90 sets off, which we will follow in the direction of the Collet de Puntalt. After covering 1.46 kilometres and reaching the place known as the Mal Pas, the entrance can already be seen at the foot of the cliff, sixty metres above the path. On the right-hand side of the path there is a marker indicating the start of the path that, over a route of 100 metres that is quite steep, leads us to the caves.

Descrizione

Morfologia

Two caves located five metres from one another. The larger is the western one: it has an entrance of 7.2x2.6 metres, with a floor rising in steps of +1.6 metres and a depth of 5.82 metres. The cave located further east has an entrance of 1.48x1.46 metres and inside forms a small chamber of 2.3x1.9 metres.

Storia

Cavity known since ancient times; this is shown by the fact that a few metres before reaching the cave we find a fairly large dry-stone cistern whose roof has collapsed, as well as the remains of the dry-stone wall that closed off the cavity. The only reference that has been found is that of the exploration and survey carried out by members of the ERE of the CEC on 7 October 1984 during a brief campaign carried out in the area; they named the cavity with the initials (V-2).
