Descrizione

Morfologia

The complex is made up of a series of holes, of which one cave stands out mainly; at its entrance some masonry walls can be seen, which must have made use of the rock shelter to make a small dwelling there.

The entrance is wide and about 1.3 metres high, and it narrows on the left side until the main gallery of the cave properly begins. On the right side, although the perpendicularity is maintained, the ceiling is very low. In this section, which we will leave because visually it presents a simple structure, it is difficult to enter because of its reduced height.

Once in what is properly the gallery of the cave, the mouth has a section 1.2 metres wide by 1.15 high. The sides of this gallery form a ledge, at about 70 centimetres high, where, on our left, a series of holes can be seen and a gallery of about 2.5-3 metres that is inaccessible.

Of the rest of the holes that make up the complex, we will say that about 10 metres from the main one there is one where one can enter a scant 3 metres and it becomes impracticable. Next we find another that is a small rock shelter from which a small gallery like a rabbit burrow comes out. Not much further away there is another rock shelter about 10 metres wide by about 4 deep.

Concrezioni

On the right side, erosion has allowed the formation of columns.

Idrologia

The floor continues in a gentle downward slope (6º), about 7 metres until touching the water. The flooded area of the cave continues the gallery 9 metres further and widens slightly. The water level is usually about 70 centimetres.

Storia

Known since time immemorial. They are known indistinctly as coves and as balmes.
