Descrizione

Morfologia

Once past the entrance porch you enter a slightly ascending gallery that reaches a landing about 2 metres wide and 4 long. On the right are two very narrow small passages. The main gallery begins to descend until reaching a very low ceiling passage that leads into a high gallery about 12 metres long. At its end, and by means of a climb of just over 4 metres, a short upper gallery can be reached which at one end connects with the lower gallery and at the other, after a narrow crawl, still rises a little more, becoming impenetrable.

Progressione

In 1956 it was excavated by J. Bellmunt (Biblioteca-Museu Víctor Balaguer, Vilanova i la Geltrú), finding various lithic material: 1 small basalt axe, 1 greenish slate plaque, four variscite necklace beads (possibly from the mines of Can Tintorer (Gavà)), some flint and two human dental pieces.

It is not until October 2010 that, on a visit by members of the GE Badalona, they see an ascending passage at its bottom. They return two months later and after making a small climb they explore a small upper gallery, taking the opportunity to redo the topography of the cavity. To their surprise they find an inscription (G.E.C.) which we do not know who it corresponds to but which testifies to a previous visit.

Storia

Known in the area since time immemorial. Font i Sagué already mentions it by references in his Catàlech (1897) and says that it is of little importance. Faura i Sans also includes it in his Recull (1909), attributing 42 metres to it (by error he places them in the depth column).

The cave becomes very well known by hikers and cavers and referenced in different publications.
