Caratteristiche

Località

We will head to the village of l’Alforja, and via the C-242 we will go to the coll d’Alforja where we will turn right towards Arbolí on the TV-7012. Further on and before reaching km 2, we will turn off towards La Febró/La Mussara on the TV-7092.

2.5 km later, on a very sharp bend and just after passing the Mas d’en Bruno, we will turn right onto a dirt track that leads to the Mas de’n Rei. Following the track for about 600 metres we will turn right at la Planeta, 300 metres further on we leave the car under the AT line and continue on foot until the track ends at the height of Lo Pilanet, a little before this we will find on the left a well-marked path, which goes around the base of the cingle de lo Pilanet to place ourselves at the cingle Blanc with views of l’Alforja, we find signposts of a hiking route.

Along this path we will go parallel to the cingle Blanc at a certain distance from it, in the direction of the AT line. After a walk of about 30 minutes we will reach without problems the cova Fumada, marked at the entrance with the number 1.

Descrizione

Morfologia

We find ourselves at a double entrance, the right one is about 6 metres wide by 4.8 high. The left one is about 6 metres wide by 1.25 metres high, this entrance ends at 5 metres of passage, therefore we will enter through the right one. An irregular gallery of about 12 metres of passage leads us to a small chamber with unstable blocks. Here an ascending conduit turns to the left in a NW direction. At the end we find a chimney (E+1.6) quite dangerous because of the blocks, and where we can no longer advance. Here the drop is +6 metres.

Storia

At the entrance we find the walls blackened by campfires, hence the name cova Fumada. The few references to this cavity are always linked to the adjoining Cova de l’Aleu, well known to the villagers. In fact, the first description made by Joan Ferraté (1918) of the cova de l'Aleu really corresponds to the cova Fumada.
