Descrizione
Morfologia
The cavity forms an underground stretch of the riera de la Riba. The riera forms a small gorge with a waterfall. Right at its foot a pool forms and the water penetrates the cavity through a very low bedding plane which, moreover, is obstructed by an accumulation of branches that the riera has dragged along, for which reason the cave is not passable from this end. The water makes an underground route through a triangular room 22 m long by 11 m wide. We enter the cavity through a kind of passage that leads us to a fork. Going up we reach the upper gallery, totally dry and stony, which after about 15 m places us at the foot of the waterfall and at the bedding plane through which the water seeps down into the subsoil.
Concrezioni
The whole triangular room is a series of gours, one after another, stepped, with totally transparent water, although, when the exploration is carried out, the sediment on the bottom is stirred up and it becomes turbid. The gours are of good size, spectacular, photogenic, some with a water depth of 80 cm.
Idrologia
The water ends its route in a small chamber where it sumps. The water will emerge outside a few metres further on through the so-called font del Tovanc, returning again to the bed of the riera. It seems that inside the room some water inflows are born that add to the flow contributed by the riera.

Storia
Known by some local people. Speleologically unpublished until the visit on 5 January 2023 by members of the ECM Barcelonès and the GE Badalona. It seems that the place name “Tovanc” comes from the existence of the soft stone (or tosca) that forms the large gours that characterise the cavity. “Tovanc” would be something like “place where soft stone accumulates”, “spot with soft stone” or similar.
Synonym: Sometimes written “Tubang”. Everything suggests that the correct name is “Tovanc”, since on the ICC map the place name “Font del Tovanc” is labelled, a word that refers to the existence of soft stone (concretion).
