Località

Leave the vehicle at the bend just past km 167 of the C-31 road, cross it and follow a fishermen's path in the direction of Vallcarca, parallel to the road. After about a hundred metres it heads, with a steep slope, towards the sea. Follow the coastline westwards and soon, enormous, the cave entrance comes into view. The last metres must be swum.

Descrizione

Morfologia

Large entrance (22 x 11 m), dimensions that gradually decrease as one penetrates the gallery. Totally flooded, it ends in a beach of rounded gravel. Voluminous collapse blocks on the W side and the floor occupied by large, equally rounded blocks and omnipresent sand.

Concrezioni

Remains of terrestrial sediments and of speleothems.

Idrologia

It appears to be one of the several springs that can be traced along the coasts of Garraf.

Storia

Certainly known since remote times by the fishermen of the area, who must have applied this place name to it, whose origin we have not been able to find.

It is cited for the first time by Faura i Sans in his Recull (1909) and in the last 40 years it appears geo-referenced, incorrectly by the way, on the maps of Editorial Alpina (and consequently on the ICGC map), assigning it a fairly correct passage of 23 metres.
