Caratteristiche

Località

We will leave Vilanova de Meià by the road heading towards Lluçars and Tòrrec; after 1670 metres, on the left we will find a track that first climbs alongside the cultivated fields, but then continues climbing past those same fields until reaching the end of them, after covering 1360 metres. We will position ourselves at the end of the field situated furthest to the NW; from this point the entrance, half covered by vegetation, can already be made out. We will head West on a route of about 370 metres, almost level; only on arriving at the cave is it necessary to easily climb a rocky slope to reach the mouth of the cavity.

Descrizione

Morfologia

A wide entrance is situated in a chamber where at the end of it we find a one-metre-high step; this gives access to a narrow joint that after a few metres becomes too narrow to continue.

Progressione

From the end of the field situated furthest to the NW, we will head West on a route of about 370 metres, almost level; only on arriving at the cave is it necessary to easily climb a rocky slope to reach the mouth of the cavity. Inside, at the end of the chamber we find a one-metre-high step that gives access to a narrow joint that after a few metres becomes too narrow to continue.

Storia

Located and explored in 2017 by Toni Satorra (†) (GELL).

Very probably the cave would have been known since ancient times and probably used as a shelter, since in the area we find old cultivation terraces now abandoned. We have not found any documentation referring to this cave.
