Caratteristiche

Località

The group is in Sant Agustí de Lluçanès, in the right-hand area of the head of the rec del Salt de la Cabra, known as the Racó de la Guillera.

It can be reached from l'Oliver along the livestock path of l'Hostal del Vilar, passing through the fields of the Salt de la Cabra and going up the rec del Salt de la Cabra to its head.

It can also be reached from the BP-4653 road at kilometre 16.38, taking the track that leads to the sanctuary of the Mare de Déu dels Munts; before reaching it, however, one must turn right, where there is a water tank. Following this track, a fork is soon found; take the right-hand one and, shortly after, another turn-off which is followed to the right. At the top of the ridge there is a further turn-off, this time to the left, which is not taken; continuing straight on, after about 200 metres vehicles can be left and one can enter the wood on the left of the track, where the Guillera is found about five minutes' walk away, some 200 metres.

Descrizione

Morfologia

It is a group of 4 cavities located in the right-hand area of the head of the rec del Salt de la Cabra, along a stretch of about twenty metres.

CAU Nº 1 DE LA GUILLERA: a cavity with 4 entrances of which only the main one is accessible. This mouth is 1.40 metres wide and 0.67 metres high; the sides and the floor are formed of clayey earth and the ceiling is a large slab that covers the whole small chamber entered through this mouth. The chamber is about 4X4 metres; entering on the right there are two exits to the outside, passable only by the local fauna. At the back, also on the right, the ceiling becomes higher (1.96 metres) and a small ascending gallery would also lead to the outside were it not for its narrowness. At the end and on the left of the chamber there is a block after the ceiling that must be overcome by means of a +1.30 metre step up; the space remaining above the block is only 0.40 metres. At this point a descending continuation is seen on the right that connects with Cau nº 2 de la Guillera; it becomes wide but not enough to be able to pass. On the left a narrow fissure continues 3 metres further.

CAU Nº 2 DE LA GUILLERA: a collapse of the ground located a few metres W of Cau nº 1. Through an earth crawlway 0.30X0.60 metres one enters a tiny chamber 2X1 metres; a mini crawlway communicates acoustically with Cau nº 1. The cavity has a length of 2 metres and a drop of one metre. No survey is available.

CAU Nº 3 DE LA GUILLERA: located 5 metres W of Cau nº 2. It is another collapse, where on the left there is a small descending conduit along which one can advance a couple of metres. To the left of this there are two more Caus that are impenetrable unless they are cleared. No survey is available.

CAU Nº 4 DE LA GUILLERA: located 5 metres W of Cau nº 3. It is a further collapse one metre in diameter through which one enters a gallery 7 metres long and oriented N; 2.50 metres before reaching the end of it, there is a fissure on the left that descends about 5 metres more, but which is impracticable because of its tiny dimensions. Turning back, one goes along the gallery in a S direction, where one descends a steep slope through a small earthy channel about 5 metres, where the cavity ends at -4 metres depth, the total length of the cavity being 15 metres.
