Località

Setting out from the S of the ermita de Sant Pol, located about 4 km from the urban centre of la Bisbal d’Empordà, at 50 metres we will find a junction of tracks; we will take the one on the right, following it for about 500 metres until a turn-off to the left. After about 100 metres, a small path on the right climbs upwards through the dense Gavarres vegetation. After about 300 metres we will reach the Cau de les Goges.

Descrizione

Morfologia

The cave, excavated in limestone, is formed by a gallery that begins with a narrow passage, which can be passed comfortably. We descend down the debris ramp until reaching the widening, where the gallery changes direction, and gains more height and width.

At the end of the small chamber a possible continuation can be seen, impracticable, which is obstructed by the height of the sediment level of the floor.

Storia

Known since ancient times. The first notice is from the year 1912 when it was visited by members of the Splay Excursionista de la Bisbal and they published a note in the weekly L'Avenç de l'Empordà.

On 23 March 2015 it was visited by members of the GE Badalona, while carrying out the cataloguing work.
