Descrizione
Morfologia
The cavity opens to the outside among some blocks with a drop of about 2 m, which leads to a small gallery that is choked. At the base of the entrance drop we can continue descending between blocks, and other drops of 2 m, 2.5 m, 3.5 m, 4.5 m until reaching the level -22, where after a short gallery we reach a 4.5 m pit where its access had to be cleared. Then we must continue descending other pits of -3.5 m, -5 m and -12 m where various further clearings have been necessary, until the level -44 m where we have considered the cavity finished. Once at the base of the 12 pit, a climb of about 3 m has been made by which one can enter an ascending meander, (it is very narrow) that climbs back up again.

Altri dettagli
Geology: The cavity lies on monomictic breccias of the lower Oligocene. Facies of the upper Alluvial System of Berga. (Unit PObm), according to the bibliography consulted (1) in this place the breccias must have very little thickness, they are deposited on the micritic limestones of the Cuisian. Penya-Terrades Formation. (Unit PEcp1). Nevertheless it has not been possible to reach this limestone level, the whole cavity being developed in the breccias. According to this same work the cavity opens just vertically above the axis of the syncline along which the collector feeding the spring of the Font de Cal Sala (alt. 1067 m) should run.
Storia
The cavity must certainly have been known to the local people, since the entrance opens in the middle of a field that was formerly cultivated and very close to a potato pit. However, asking the people of the area whom we met working near the cavity during our explorations, no one has been able to give us any reference, but the name Bòfia del Portet seemed appropriate to them.
We located it on 18 February 2024, when Josep Guarro, using LIDAR relief maps, found that one of the different points he had marked to look at in the area was a penetrable cavity, he descended the entrance drop and saw that the cavity could continue, although it seemed to him that it did not promise much.
Josep mentioned it to Jordi Francès, and he, accompanied on various occasions by his companions Benjamí Grañena and Daniel Ferrer during June and July 2024, carried out the exploration and survey down to -44 m, the point where the cavity becomes very narrow and continuing the exploration does not seem feasible; later in the autumn of the same year, Jordi Francès returned accompanied by Javi Garrido and they finished exploring and surveying some small side passages that do not continue.
