A large shelter in Marganell (Bages), 72 metres wide and shallow, known since time immemorial.

Caratteristiche

Località

From km 4.6 of the BV-1123 road, a track sets off which we will follow for 160 metres. Here we will leave the car if we do not have a 4x4 vehicle, and we will continue on foot along a track that sets off on our left, in a NW direction. After covering about 750 metres and overcoming 80 metres of elevation gain, we will reach a spot where the track turns almost 180º; here we will leave the track and continue on foot in a NW direction along little-marked paths and after 60 metres we will easily reach the shelter.

Descrizione

Morfologia

It is a shelter 72 metres wide and shallow, between 3 and 4 metres, with an average height of about 4 metres at the outermost part.

The ceiling is of conglomerate, while the walls and the floor are of sandstone.

Concrezioni

We can highlight a stalactite about 70 cm long and 80 cm in diameter.

Storia

Known since time immemorial.
