Caratteristiche

Località

From Castellterçol, we will follow the C-59 road towards Moià; just past kilometre 35, we will turn right heading to the Fàbrega. Once past under the bridge of the C-59, we will turn right following the track that leads to the house of the Pedrós; just past the house and at the height of the water pond, we will follow the track on the left, which in 1100 metres will take us to a crossroads where just below is the rock shelter. You must follow the track on the right 175 metres, where on the left side we find a wire fence and where we will find a marker that indicates the path to follow to the rock shelter.

Descrizione

Morfologia

It is a rock shelter more than 50 metres wide and up to 13 metres deep. The visor of the rock shelter rises to 6 metres in average height, but at 5 metres it drops sharply to 1.4 metres in height; from there the ceiling descends gently to the end.

Concrezioni

Inside there is a spring with artificial stone walls, which has been covered by the travertines coming from the drips; these travertines have also formed a wall that divides the rock shelter.

Idrologia

The rock shelter is in the middle of the torrent of the font del Pedrós, where in rainy periods a waterfall forms.

Altri dettagli

The rock shelter is opened in sandstones, but the upper part of the visor is formed by conglomerates.

Storia

It seems to have been known since remote times.
