Località

At km 50.97 of the C-37 road, between Santa Maria de Miralles and Querol, just in front of Cal Ramonet, there is a track with a sign indicating Balç de Fontanilles 2.7 km. We will pass in front of ca la Parda, can Pompo and la Torre, until we pass above the torrent de Fontanilles, where we will leave the car. A sign indicates the path towards the rock shelter, which is reached in two minutes.

Descrizione

Morfologia

The rock shelter has a width of about 14.7 metres in height and a depth of 6 metres. The E side is not inaccessible due to the steep drop and the vegetation.

Idrologia

The torrent de Fontanilles passes through the centre of the rock shelter forming a small waterfall. In the centre of the rock shelter there is a ledge with a pool that collects the water from the spring.

Progressione

The only access path is along the W side, going down a path with a railing on our right, which leads us to the centre of the rock shelter.

Storia

Known since time immemorial.
